Margaret Thatcher (Baroness Thatcher), a giant of British and world politics passed away peacefully this morning after suffering a stroke, not only the first and only woman Prime Minister but she transformed our country from the joke of Europe to one of the most powerful and richest countries in the world, Margaret Thatcher strode the world stage of politics like a colossus!
Alongside Churchill, Margaret Thatcher was one of the greatest ever leaders of the Conservative Party and our greatest peacetime Prime Minister, certainly there is no one around today fit to tie her shoe laces
Margaret Thatcher inherited a country which had just had to go to the IMF (International Monetary Fund) for a loan, our whole industrial base was out of date and in decline, based on industries from another era all in hock to the ever more powerful Trades Unions and subsequently we were the most inefficient in Europe, we were known as the Sick Man of Europe!
She became Prime Minister in 1979 and transformed this country into one of the richest in the world, we were actually the 3rd biggest overseas investor in the world after America and Japan, the sick man of Europe to a powerhouse of Europe in only one decade, how we need her now!
Hundreds of thousands of people owe the fact that they own their own house to Margaret Thatcher, hundreds of thousands of people owe the fact that they own shares to Margaret Thatcher, no longer did the Trade Unions have open access to 10 Downing Street or restricted government information!
Margaret Thatcher was a leader the like of we will never see again, lover her or hate her, agree or disagree, everyone respected Margaret Thatcher, you knew where you stood, you knew what she stood for!
