A disabled mans wheely bin was not emptied because the grass was too sticky, the jobsworth bin men just give 2 goes on the bin lorry and then give up, the council said it was not in their job description to loosen grass! I am old enough to remember real bin men who collected the bins from the rear of the house, up the bin went on their shoulder and it would be carried to the lorry, emptied and returned but they don’t make them like that anymore.

At a time when our economy is on its knees and reliant on a resurgent private sector the Lib Dem’s seem determined to pile bureaucracy on bureaucracy to make things more difficult, all businesses are swamped with paperwork and restrictions but this falls hardest small businesses.

First we have Vince Cable who seems determined to add to the burden of small business with the extra time off for new fathers, up to 5.5 months of paid maternity leave but whether it is the mother or father just how are small firms supposed to cope when losing a vital employee for that time, they can’t replace them because they are entitled to their job back on return. The management time involved and cost will just see the cost of employing anyone rise out of all proportion, at a time when unemployment is rising we are making it more difficult and costly to employ anyone, Vince Cable really should take a look in the mirror because he may see what is wrong with his brand of politics and this country.

Then of course there is Chris Huhne who has promised a drop in carbon emissions so drastic, 50% of 1990 emissions by 2025) we will need to get 90% of our carbon emissions from renewable energy, he completely disregards the cost, not only to British Industry but to the British tax payer, for a green economy read stealth taxes.

We all know we must clean up our act but people such as Chris Huhne are not concerned about the cost, they will just increase stealth taxes and taxes on the very people vital to our recovery but then like the majority of the Lib Dem party the politics of Chris Huhne is to the far left of the Labour Party, his conduct during the last general election and his treatment of his wife just afterwards show where his moral compass lays!
