If you are into politics and have been watching the activities of the Lib Dem’s you couldn’t make up the pronouncements of the past week but put it in a book people would say it could never happen in real life, they really are the party silly walks but the problem for the country is that some of their silly walks are very expensive!

In politics it can be dangerous to nail your colours to the mast too soon but both the Lib Dem’s and Labour have jumped into the deep end of politics, we will see if they can swim!

So, the Lib Dem’s think that our hard worked MP’s, who get 3 months+ holiday a year, should be allowed to turn their job into a job share scheme, the Lib Dem’s seem to be surprised that the job of an MP can be arduous and a lot of the time it is anything but 9 to 5.

Well of course it is arduous, they are directors of one of the biggest economies in the world, politics is arduous but to talk of job share is to show a frightening miss understanding of what is/should be involved but again we are in the world of the Lib Dem’s where everything is decided by European Union anyway and Westminster just becomes an unaccountable talking shop carrying out the instructions of another unaccountable talking shop in Brussels

At a time when we should be reducing the size of and increasing the quality of our over bloated parliament the Lib Dem’s are trying to increase it and believe me it will increase it probably with even less accountability because accountability in politics is something the Lib Dem’s can’t handle!

For over 40 years the real nasty party in our system has been the Lib Dem’s, they are the most ruthless party this country has ever seen with dirty tricks at bye elections that the other parties would not entertain and at the same time they have accumulated more scandals than the other two parties put together from Jeremy Thorpe as a defendant in a murder trial, major donor being jailed, David Laws £40k expenses scandal, Chris Huhne speeding points case which above all means he lied over many years and now right through to a sex scandal which has been around for over 5 years and everybody in the Lib Dem’s knew about!

This suggestion will hopefully be dumped, along with the Lib Dem’s at Eastleigh on Thursday and at the next General Election.

Another, what seems like, continuous funny walk by the Lib Dem’s is their fixation with wealth taxes and a Mansion House tax in particular, this has now been extended to include practically everything you own and is fully supported by Labour, if you ever get to live under the politics of a Ed Miliband/Cleggy government you can forget about working hard, being successful, saving for your future, creating wealth and jobs because if you have got it they will want it1

If you are in lower end of society then Labour or a Labour/Lib Dem coalition will look after you but if you aspire to better yourself then you will be encouraged but the government will want most of it, they will call it redistribution of wealth to create equality but it is the worst kind of thinking designed to produce bankruptcy, this is another reason why Labour and the Lib Dem’s want us enshrined within the European Union because then they can get away with it but it is the politics of decline

The only real kind of equality is equality of opportunity, to be able to be successful, to keep most of what you earn and to be able to pass it on, in reality the higher the tax rates the lower the tax take and for an instance we have the fuel duty as evidence, the tax on fuel duty is obscene and as petrol/diesel prices clime the tax take has levelled and will soon be falling, if we were to reduce fuel duty by 25% the addition tax take from jobs created, more car journeys, lower shop prices, lower inflation etc. would easily make up the difference.

Yes the wealthy must pay a big proportion of taxation and fulfill their role in society but if they are to continue to be successful to create even more wealth for the country then they must not be a bottomless pit, history shows a low tax rate economy equals higher tax revenues, the Lib Dem way is pure politics of envy, jealousy and spite which will never get anyone or their country anywhere, note the Margaret Thatcher quote below and then read the article underneath which highlights how Socialism and in particular the Lib Dem wealth taxes just do not and will not work!

Wealth Tax proposed by Lib Dems could affect Landlords

Today I read one of the best forum posts I’ve ever seen on the topic of economics and in particular the proposed new Wealth Tax which could affect landlords according to the Mail Online.

The post was written by Paul Fenton over on the Property Tribes forum and reads as follows:-

“An economics teacher at a local school made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that, if socialism was fully adopted, no one would be poor and no one would be rich, and all would be equal.

The teacher then said, ‘OK, we will have an experiment in this class’. All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A…. (substituting grades for pounds – something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the teacher told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, and gives to those who do nothing, no-one will try or want to succeed.

It could NOT be any simpler than that.

Remember, there will be a test in the future – the next election.
