Liam Fox is now caught up in, what will be, a sustained attack by Labour to tarnish the Conservative Party as the party of sleaze, they have no policies to add the the politics agenda so smear has once again become the main policy of the Labour Party!
Politics is a dirty game and Liam Fox, who has been left reeling on the ropes, has just been plain stupid, he should have known better and the press are searching for every angle from corruption to sex, you can tell from the way they phrase their questions, the vultures of the press are only interested in destroying someone!
The saying goes that politics is a dirty game and l suppose anything connected to real power will always be ruthless and dirty, it is a shame though because Liam Fox is actually one of the good guys but whether he can actually get the knife out and stem the flow of blood remains to be seen!
Liam Fox’s judgement in this case has been dangerously flawed so should we accept his apology and trust he has learned his lesson, that is for you to judge but it would be a shame to lose a basically decent man who has committed a breach of fairly minor proportions when compared to Vince Cable and numerous front line Labour cabinet ministers, including the Prime Minister, in the last Labour administration!
It would be a shame to lose Liam Fox but if he does go please let it be for the right reasons and not because of a gutter campaign by the left-wing media and an ever more desperate Labour Party.
Liam Fox is one of the real people in politics, a qualified doctor, he is one of the few members of the coalition who has had a real job and he has brought much needed real leadership and organisation to a previously dysfunctional department and his handling of the Libya crisis has been 1st class, he can do the job but has let himself and the country down badly!
Liam Fox is an excellent minister who should have known better, can he survive, if he had been a Lib Dem minister then most definitely but as a front line Conservative minister only time will tell, for the moment the vultures of the press are digging where they most feel at home, in the gutter.
It would be a shame to lose Liam Fox but if he does go please let it be for the right reasons and not because of a gutter campaign by the left-wing media and an ever more desperate Labour Party.
