Nick Clegg New Year Message and the BUT in Nick Clegg’s Dream!

Nick Clegg has issued his customary New Year Message and he is right to highlight that 2012 will be a very difficult year with many challenges but, and there always is a but with the Lib Dem’s

The Nick Clegg New year message which highlights how difficult 2012 will be is the responsible New year message, it will be a very difficult year because we not only have our own problems to contend with but also the problems in the Euro-Zone which, unless the Euro-Zone members get to grips with it, has the capacity to damage the economies of the entire world but!

I do though agree that the George Osborne must continue his excellent job of eliminating tax evasion, Osborne has done more than any other chancellor in this area and whilst I do not believe in high tax rates the tax due must be collected in full.

There is always a BUT with the Lib Dem’s
Nick Clegg then goes on to try and highlight the major impact the Lib Dem’s have had on policy and it’s effect on ensuring the poorest in our society survive these difficult times, and there ladies & gentlemen is the BUT! Further reading

Nick Clegg and his Lib Dem’s came into this coalition initially in the national interest and of course for their first taste of power in living memory, the Conservative Party actually entered the coalition totally for the national interest because it would have been far better for the Conservative Party to let the Lib Dem’s join up with Labour and they would have been in power with an overall majority by now but what the Lib Dem’s have not done in the national interest is given up their precious left-wing tax policies, green policies and European Union obsessions which are, without question, stifling growth in our economy.

Taxation policy
Taxation policy is all about understanding the dynamics of taxation, when the Thatcher government lowered the highest rate of taxation to 40% there was despair in the Labour and Lib Dem ranks depicting it as cash for the rich but in fact the tax take from that segment increased enormously, higher taxation rates do not always equate to higher revenue.

Another point the Lib Dem’s just can’t grasp is that their mantra that we need to narrow the gap between rich and poor is flawed and simply does not work, it never has, to make everyone richer in this country we need the rich, the wealth creators to get a lot richer and they will create the opportunities wich will drag us all up!

It is not how rich people get which is important, it is how much richer the poorer members of society get, narrowing the gap between rich and poor would obviously be nice but you will not achieve that without, at least first of all, making the rich richer and then the poorer members of society can take advantages of the opportunities!

Green policy and climate change which has been a fact for millions of years!
The logic behind policies to halt climate change has long since been in question, whilst no one can deny that climate change is happening it is highly unlikely it is man-made to any large degree and although we should have policies to prepare for climate change we simply cannot carry on bankrupting the country following policies which will make no difference in the current world climate. Let us build our economy first and then evaluate the situation once we understand the science.

The European Union and the Euro-Zone
The Euro-Zone and the euro crisis has the capacity to push large proportions of the world into depression but quite apart from that the very beaurocracy of the European Union together with the Human Rights Courts are strangling this countries potential growth and competitiveness which is why we must push it away.

Nick Clegg and the Lib Dem’s have a problem in that they and their policies are actually to the left of the labour Party and are one of the biggest brakes on the potential growth in our economy BUT I think at last the public are waking up to this and that could be the BUT that destroys the Lib Dem Party, we will see!
