We are now hearing that Nick Clegg is furious, Ken Clarke is very disappointed, Labour are trying to make out that they are worried that we will have no further influence in the European Union and that is to be expected because they all want to sell their country down the road of ever closer union with Europe, the fact that it is opposed by between 65% and 80% of the British people is of no consequence to them because they do not believe in democracy!
They want us to give away our sovereignty to basically the Germans and the French, the very people who took such an enormous gamble with the euro, even after we told them what would happen and put the whole world economy in jeopardy, David Cameron is not the best negotiator in the world but he had no choice but to withdraw his support for the treaty because to sign would have put the UK on an irreversible pathway towards total integration with a German dominated and un-democratic European Union. The way that the European Union is heading is also a threat to democracy for the member states because the vast size of the European Union and the fact that they are all coalitions means that electors in those countries, who because of their electoral system make very precious little impact locally, will make no impact at all within the European Union which will be run by politicians answerable to no-one!
You have to ask yourself why we are suddenly having these meeting now and the answer is of course because of the immediate, UK predicted, crisis in the Euro-Zone which threatens the whole world economy but that won’t be sorted until March and no concrete proposals were agreed, Merkel and Sarkozy hijacked and took advantage of the Euro crisis to introduce tighter integration to fulfill their wildest dreams light years faster than they ever thought possible, if they thought it possible at all!
And as far as the European Union imposing regulations on us without our agreement, because apparently we are now the pariahs of Europe, we just have to learn one word, the one that Margaret Thatcher used, NO NO NO!
To finish, the first poll to be taken since David Cameron vetoed the revised European union treaty shows 62% support for his actions, 66% want a referendum on our relationship with the European Union and their growing concern about German domination of Europe.
