A budget lost in the politics, probably all he could do with the constraints but he will need to find a way to do more to really stimulate growth, the items I mentioned in my pre-budget blog ( http://www.itsjustlife.co.uk/budget-day-politics-0311 ) would have put growth on turbo power but not knowing the true depth of his restrictions they may have been reckless, they are though what’s needed.

The fuel duty, whilst welcome, is largely symbolic but a trend which must continue and the help for first time buyers was a start it falls far short of what is needed and we also need help for the whole housing market, not just first time buyers.

Interesting watching Ed Milliband and Ed Balls, they are and obviously have to be in total denial, for their parties sake they can’t afford to look back they have to just pretend their 13 years never happened, I see that Ed Balls is still using the old arguments about recession and unemployment in the early 80’s but he does not mention that it was brought about by the bankrupt national accounts labour left behind! For those who can remember British Steel, British Airways, British Leyland and numerous others, all major British companies basically bankrupt and ridden with union militancy, British Steel alone was losing
