Anti-Capitalist, the Movement and the Politics of Reality!

Anti-Capitalist, probably Anti-Politics, we have the demo’s world-wide and our own very own demo camp sites outside St Paul’s and around the country but if they have an argument do they actually have a solution?

Anti-Capitalist, the Movement
Do they really understand what has happened with our economies and our banking system and do the anti-capitalist movement realize that they are also partly to blame, interesting, so lets us look at this in small bites taking the issues first and then mainland EU and the Euro-Zone followed by the UK.

Talk about reducing the gap between rich and poor is rubbish, a left-wing mantra which gets headlines, to really improve the lives of the poorest in society we actually need the rich to get a lot richer

The Issues
The issues seem to centre around equality/freedom, banking and corporate greed together with tax avoidance, the anger about banking and corporate greed is understandable and felt by all but it is a fine line to tread because whilst it is right to tackle it we still need these individuals fully motivated and creating wealth otherwise we will all suffer far worse than we are now so an element of greed will always be there, it is human nature. It must be remembered that all the talk about reducing the gap between rich and poor is rubbish, a left-wing mantra which gets headlines, to really improve the lives of the poorest in society we actually need the rich to get a lot richer and profits to increase because then business has the confidence to invest and with investment comes growth, jobs and prosperity.

With regard to tax avoidance, governments set the taxation rules and everyone at whatever level will avoid paying too much tax by using those rules, every time you fill out a tax form you are trying to avoid tax but legally, it is up to governments to phrase those rules fairly and it must be said that Labour and Gordon Brown made the tax rules so complicated that they are always open to challenge, this is something which needs simplifying but it can’t be done over night and not with the interference of the Lib Dem’s!

Finally we have equality and freedom, you can have the equality and freedom of the communist or socialist systems, as the UK had between 1997 and 2010 which just leads to much more inequality

If companies are not playing fair within the taxation rules then it is up to governments to close the loopholes and no Chancellor has done more in such a short time as George Osborne to close the many loopholes which are inevitable in such an over complicated system and he deserves much credit.

Finally we have equality and freedom, you can have the equality and freedom of the communist or socialist systems, as the UK had between 1997 and 2010 which just leads to much more inequality, less freedom and increased deprivation in society or you can have true equality and freedom as espoused by Margaret Thatcher which leads to equality of opportunity for all and is the only true freedom, so what better way to close this paragraph on equality and freedom!

“Let our children grow tall and yes let some grow taller if they have it in them, with freedom will come equality of opportunity and with that real freedom” – Margaret Thatcher

Mainland EU and the Euro-Zone
I think we would all support the Anti-Capitalist protest if it is against the European Union (EU) and the Euro-Zone, not because we are Anti-Capitalist but because we believe in democracy and freedom which is a little alien and inconvenient for the EU and the Euro-Zone!

Obviously the worldwide financial problems started with the dodgy property loans in America but this current crisis has virtually nothing to do with the original problems, this current crisis is the result of the predicted failure of the Euro-Zone project which was built on ideology, ego and ambition with foundations of quicksand.

A Tobin tax just in the European Union would get 95% of its revenue from the UK, destroy our economy and our worldwide banking pre-eminence

The end was inevitable and predicted but it has put the whole world in danger of a major recession and depression, an enormous gamble with the whole worlds prosperity as the gambling chips, for the euro to be viable the 17 need financial and political union but with 17 countries governed by coalition governments elected by PR the chances of agreement are small. Greece will probably have to leave the Euro-Zone but if it is followed by Italy or Italy defaults there is no bailout fund big enough to help Italy and both the Euro-Zone and the European Union will crumble!

The United Kingdom
If you look at the Anti-Capitalist campaigners it’s a mixture of people, probably half are professional Anti-Capitalist campaigners, some are just unemployed maybe even homeless some are students but most have one thing in common, they would probably all, those who are old enough and qualify, have voted Labour over the 13 years of Labour government, essentially they will have voted for the political party that caused this current mess in the UK!

If it is followed by Italy or Italy defaults there is no bailout fund big enough to help Italy and both the Euro-Zone and the European Union will crumble!

So there you have it, the Anti-Capitalist campaigners have to accept part of the blame for the current crisis in the UK, we would still have suffered but our banks would have weathered the storm but of course Gordon Brown decided to cut the major regulation of the banks and the banks let rip and it nearly was RIP. Gordon Brown also sold off our Gold reserves at half price, bankrupt our pensions industry, employed millions of people centrally in jobs which did not exist as he had no answer for unemployment, spent
